Jewel Answers Some Questions From The EDAs

In response to a request from Jewel's management on how to improve the online chats Jewel partakes in occasionally (two happened in the month of June), many Jewel mailing list members wrote to the special AOL email address set up for taking replies on this matter. In return and in response to the suggestions that came in, Jewel and her mother/manager Lenedra gave the members of the list the opportunity to come up with a batch of questions for Jewel to answer. A total of two-hundred and seventeen questions were submitted, which were pared down to forty by a panel of twelve volunteers. The forty were submitted to the mailing list for a vote, and the twenty questions that received the most votes were sent on to Jewel. The questions below and Jewel's supplied answers are the result of this project.

Note: The first posting of two questions and answers occurred on Sunday, July 12th on this website and the Jewel mailing list via MrBB. Two more Q&A's will be posted each night until all ten have been posted.

Jewel agreed to answer ten questions of her choosing from the twenty questions submitted. If she decides to answer more than ten, the additional answers will also be posted.

The newest questions & answers posted will always be listed first and will have two gems in front of them :-)

Last update on July 16th

NOTE: There will be a short delay in the continuation of this project. The answers to the last four (or more) questions should be posted mid-to-late next week

Adina Friedman: Jewel, Is there any possibility of having another JewelStock for the EDA's?
Jewel: Yes, there is and we would have liked to have done it this year, but it doesn't look like it will happen.  But I want to do another JewelStock!

Tyler Ayalin: Jewel, everyone is aware of many of your amazing talents but I was wondering if you have any hidden talents unbeknownst to others.  Something no one else can do, maybe like juggling blindfolded, eating an orange through a straw, or even just a joke you made up.

Thanks,     Ty

Jewel: Cattle roping, and the ability to move every muscle on my face (including both upper eye lids and lower eye lids) simultaneously.

Court: Is there anything you regret doing & what would you like most to be remembered for (&/or how would you like to be remembered)?

Court

Jewel: In fourth grade I made fun of a boy in a cruel way.  I thought it was a cool way to impress my friends.  It still haunts me today.  I would like to be remembered as a humanitarian.

Mike Gray: How do you feel about not releasing the recordings made at the Bearsville sessions? Many EDAs are concerned that they may never see the light of day - and while we acknowledge that they aren't where you are at right now, many of us feel that they are still very valid pieces in their own right, and wonder what exactly is to become of them.

Cheers -  Mike

Jewel: Lots of people probably have all these songs on JewelStock and other tapes. It isn't where I am right now.  The quality of it isn't such that I would want to release it.  I might use parts of it on a current project I'm working on.

Maggie: What is your favorite qualities in a person? What qualities do you look for in a mate?

Maggie, the curious rambling angel

Jewel: A hunger for growth, truth and radical honesty. For a mate, the same, plus self referencing and the ability to take care of themselves. Personal, emotional and spiritual strength with the courage to give up what is needed to grow in a positive way.

Erica Cavallo: Jewel, what is your favorite kind of pudding?
Jewel: Butterscotch--but please don't send cases full!

Look for more Questions and Answers each night during the week of July 12th thru the 16th :-) NOTE: There will be a short delay in the continuation of this project. The answers to the last four (or more) questions should be posted mid-to-late next week
